Elicia Yun Sun Tam Jan 4 1960 – Nov 13 2021

My dear wife, Elicia Yun Sun Tam passed away peacefully this morning on Saturday November 13 2021, at the age of 61, surrounded by family.

Beloved Wife of Ian Irving; Daughter of Kwai Lan Tam and Chung Lok Tam; Sister of Gallan (Lynda), Tam (Ted), Stella (Steve), Denise (John) ; Aunt to Carolyn (Erin), Jeffery, Jaclyn (Ronen), Jeananne (Robert), Jason (Amber), Jon (Alisa), Joyce (Corey); Great Aunt to Ella, Cohen, Bruno, Savannah, Charlotte, and Ulysses.

Born in Hong Kong in 1960 where she attended St. Catharine’s School for Girls (Kwun Tong) [https://www.scsg.edu.hk], Elicia immigrated to Canada in 1977. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a BS in Economics before returning to Hong Kong. She came back to Toronto in 1989 where she continued her career in the investment operations side of finance, notably at CitiBank, TD and Manulife. Several years after meeting Ian at a tennis club social, they married in 1997, and made a home in west end Toronto. Elicia was a passionate and meticulous home chef, an avid traveller and skier, and a warm person who laughed easily.

She will be missed dearly.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Elicia’s name to Dancing with Parkinson’s or Singing With Parkinson’s, two organizations that help Elicia’s with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a neurodegenerative disorder under the umbrella of Parkinsonism.

It will be an informal gathering of Friends and Loved ones to Celebrate Elicia and support each other in our loss.

This event will require proof of vaccination and identification from each person upon entry. The province has provided a special QR code to those with Medical Exemptions. Children 12 years of age and under are also exempt.

update : December 8th, the stone for Elicia’s grave is now in place.
